January 29, 2007 – CostaFilma announces that its the documentary feature ‘No Shelter’ has gone into pre-production. The controversial film focuses on animal rights abuse in southern Spain. The film is to be shot in HDV and is being directed by Phil Smy. Expected completion is December 2007.

January 11, 2007 – CostaFilma announces that its post-production facilities will standardize on Aja Kona hardware. ‘Using the Kona allows the maximum possible quality’ says CostaFilma Director Phil Smy ‘and let’s us use HD-upscaling on SD sources for incredible results’. December 1, 2006 – CostaFilma is proud to announce the addition of two new script consultants to our ranks. William Martell is an internationally recognized scriptwriter and lecturer. With at least 20 produced features to his name, Bill brings invaluable advice to CostaFilma projects. Brad MacPherson is a Screenwriter, Director, and Development Executive with Los Angeles-based Jaywalk Films. Brad’s experience with low-budget feature development will help CostaFilma get productions rolling here in Europe.
September 10, 2006 – ‘Towards Sunset’ – distributed by CostaFilma – was the winner of the Marbella International Film Festival. CostaFilma director Phil Smy was on hand to accept the award.
‘Towards Sunset’ is a touching story of a Afghani refugee boy struggling to find his way in Iran. Directed by Iraj Emami the story presents a unique perspective on a fascinating part of the world.
